PORTLAND, ME- Junior Achievement of Maine announces the election of the following officers for the Board of Directors for the coming year beginning July 1, 2012.

The new officers are:

  • Chairman of the Board, Darren J. Hurlburt, CPA, President & CEO of MES Maine Education Services
  • Vice Chairman of the Board, Guy Langevin, VP of Human Resources & Organizational Development at Dead River Company
  • Past Chairman of the Board, Jeffrey Laniewski, Vice President of Synernet, Inc.
  • Treasurer of the Board, Paul Clancy, EVP/Chief Financial Officer of Diversified Communications.
  • Secretary of the Board, Scott Twitchell, VP Practice Group Leader of TD Insurance

Currently, 22 business leaders make up the State Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Maine. State Board members manage the business, property, and affairs of the corporation with the responsibility and authority to determine operating policies and practices. Key roles include; strategic planning, fundraising, volunteering, policy and evaluation, and resource development. Subsequently, Junior Achievement of Maine has seven area boards throughout the State that coordinate programing and fundraising in their areas.

Junior Achievement of Maine is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy through the help from our dedicated volunteers. JA is the world’s largest organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Junior Achievement of Maine reached over 9,000 students from Aroostook to York County this academic school year.
